Summer Activities

Waskaganish is situated on one of four mighty rivers that empty into the vast expanse known as Rupert Bay which, in turn, empties into the James and Hudson Bays. Once these rivers are free of ice this marks the arrival of summer.

You can enjoy easy boat launch access, or even be able to ask for a Cree guide so you can safely and expertly explore one of these mighty rivers. Each river is only a short boat ride from the community. Or if you prefer to keep your feet on dry land there are many activities, events, and festivals that are organized by the community all throughout the summer.
