Spring Activities

The spring season is a time of renewal and can be witnessed as the ice river begins to thaw and break up. As the ice floes are carried into the James and Hudson Bay by the powerful river currents another natural event takes place that captivates the entire community.

The arrival of Canada geese always brings people out of their winter homes and into the cool spring sun. Children, and adults, can be heard expertly calling and mimicking the distinguishable cry of the Canada geese. You will be drawn to call along with the community in this time-honoured event.
