Rupert Bay
The Rupert Bay is a large body of freshwater fed
by four major rivers and a number of streams and creeks. It is a
shallow bay that is best navigated when the tidal cycle is at its
highest. At low tide, the wary traveler could be stranded--or
worse--
should they run aground of one of the Bay’s rocky shoals.
Sitting in the middle of the bay is an island
as storied as the region itself. Minjoonuuksh, or Stag Rock, is an
island that the local people respect and fear. It’s story is one that almost any local will share with you. Take the time to sit down and ask for the story behind this island. |
