James Bay Starts here

Kanio Kashee Lodge is situated near the southern shores of James Bay in the Cree Community of Waskaganish in northern Canada. The site is conveniently located near northern Quebec and Ontario transportation centers. The lodge stands distinctively on the banks of the Rupert River, near the site of the historic Fort Charles. This village was chosen to be the site of the first Hudson Bay Outpost in Canada in 1665.

With it’s newly opened access road the community can be accessed by land, sea and air. The land route takes you beyond the town of Matagami where James Bay begins. The community of Waskaganish is the southern most point of the bay within the province of Quebec. The community can be accessed through air travel via Air Creebec or chartered aircraft.
